The Cheese House
a plain city, ohio landmark
OUR STORY: A TRADITION OF TASTE
Established Roots in Plain City
Since opening our doors more than 70 years ago, The Cheese House has grown from a humble local market into a beloved culinary destination. Located just off Route 42, we have served as a welcoming landmark for generations of families in Plain City, Dublin, and the surrounding areas. What began with a simple commitment to quality has blossomed into a legacy of connecting our community with honest, wholesome food.
More Than Just a Market
We believe that shopping for food should be an experience, not a chore. When you walk through our doors, you are greeted by the comforting aroma of handcrafted baked goods and the sight of shelves stocked with carefully curated provisions. We take pride in offering a diverse range of products that cater to every palate and dietary need—from our signature artisan cheeses and premium deli meats to our extensive selection of gluten-free and sugar-free options.
A Community Staple
Over the last eight decades, our neighbors have come to rely on us not just for groceries, but for exceptional service that feels like family. Whether you are stopping in for a quick lunch, searching for a hard-to-find spice, or building a custom gift basket for a loved one, The Cheese House is dedicated to maintaining the high standards of quality and hospitality that have defined us since day one.

This sweet little shop has many good products and prices for weekly grocery shopping however yogurt cheese with live cultures is why I go. It’s not easy to find in metro Columbus. Being lactose intolerant this is a cheese I can consume AND oh it’s so goooooood! Lovely people, and fun to be out in the area also for the thrift store next door and Der Dutchman near by. A sweet little ride to the country for a delicious yogurt cheese stop is a twice a month must.Posted on Terry CuppTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Quick trip in, and was able to grab some maple glazed cinnamon rolls, woopie pies, and the walnut creek licorice. Love coming in here weekly, the team from the Cheese house do an amazing job providing customer service and their meats and cheese are phenomenal. Since July, I've gotten products nearly every week to survive the renaissance festival season. My friends and I have loved all deli meats and cheeses we got.Posted on Lisa HersheyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you love an old country store this is it.
